Welcome to Kingsteignton Royal British Legion
When people hear Royal British Legion they normally think lots of old war veterans sitting around having a pint and recounting their war stories! Ten to twenty years ago maybe this would have been true however the majority of ex-servicemen and women from WWI and WWII have come and gone. So what does this mean for the Royal British Legion today?
What with the passing of the older members, the Royal British Legion has had to adapt itself to appeal to a wider audience.
Anyone can join the Legion. The misconception is you have to be ex-service to join. This is not the case and the Royal British Legion welcomes absolutely everyone.
The Legion is made up of three parts:
• Women’s Section
• Branch
• Club
Although each part is operated and run separately we all work together to:
• Raise Funds for the Poppy Appeal
• Raise Funds for Benevolent Work
• Raise Awareness of the Royal British Legion & what it does
• Provide a facility for the residents of Kingsteignton and the surrounding district.
• Create a safe & friendly atmosphere for member’s families to meet and socialise.
Each part is run by a Committee elected by the members for the members.
Committee Meetings are held monthly as below:
Women’s Section second Wednesday of the month
Branch second Tuesday of the month
Club fourth Thursday of the month
All committees are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, for further information please email us at enquiries@krbl.co.uk.
